OpenSRP Governance Structure

In its journey to becoming a mature, global goods, digital health product, OpenSRP (Open Smart Register Platform) is formalizing a governance structure that will help steer the tool to new heights.

At the end of 2020, Ona, as OpenSRP’s techncial stewards, successfully filed the registration of the OpenSRP trademark in the USA. In the first quarter of 2021, we are formally launching the OpenSRP Governance Structure, through support from PATH and Digital Square.

The governance structure is meritocratic in nature and consist of a chairperson and two committees: a project management committee (PMC) and a product/technical committee (PTC).

We are excited to hereby invite our tech partners, collaborators, implementing partners and donors to be part of this process and nominate members of the fast-growing OpenSRP community, to formally join our two committees and be part of the historic (virtual) launch event in March 2021.

For more information, see the Introduction to the New OpenSRP Governance Structure slides, which go into more detail on the committee’s roles and responsibilites.

You can nominate people to join the committees by emailing the nominee’s name and surname, title, organization, and a short motivation of why you think this person should be a member of the PMC or PTC to pmc@smartregister.org or ptc@smartregister.org. The deadline for nomination is 31 January 2021.
