Alessandro leads the Analytics practice at Ona and loves using data to solve real world problems. His approach is simple: first understand the problem domain and only then jump into coding. With solid theoretical framework and a collaborative mindset, he works to ensure data is appropriately collected, analyzed, and visualized so it can be useful to our clients and their needs. His deep curiosity has made him comfortable with sector as varied as global health, disaster response, cash transfers, and program evaluation, and he is always on the lookout for something new.
Originally from Italy, Alessandro brings a truly global perspective to the team, having lived in eight countries between Africa, Europe, and America. He previously worked as a management consultant at Deloitte in London and led data analytics at Zola, a Pay-Go solar energy provider based in Tanzania. Besides work, he remains a passionate environmentalist, lifelong student, and endurance athlete. He holds a cum laude MSc in Business Information Management from Erasmus University as well as a dual summa cum laude BSc in Economics and Management from Università Ca’ Foscari and Georgia State University.
